Rafael Duarte (Ocean City/Ocean City) scored two goals as Richard Stockton (8-3-1, 3-1) defeated Rowan (3-7, 0-4) 3-1 to earn its fifth straight victory. Brennen Fitzsimmons (Neptune/Neptune) booted one goal and Pat Tolomeo (Ocean City/Ocean City) dished two assists to extend his point streak to five games. Goalkeeper Matt Hart (Dayton/ South Brunswick) made two saves for Stockton in net, both in the first half. Stockton quickly jumped into the lead as Duarte opened the scoring with a goal in the first minute of the game with an assist by Sean McCallum (Vineland/ Vineland). Rowan evened the match with a tally in the 21st minute and the scored was tied 1-1 at the break despite a 9-3 advantage in shots for Stockton. In the second half, Stockton quickly took the lead again as Duarte scored his second goal of the game off a Tolomeo assist in the 49th minute, four minutes into the period. The final goal of the game was scored in the 71st minute, as Brennan Fitzsimmons (Neptune/Neptune) made increased the Stockton lead to 3-1 on a back-heel shot from close range, with Tolomeo getting his second assist of the night on the scoring play. |
