15th-ranked Richard Stockton (16-5-1) routed St. Joseph’s (LI) (11-9-2) 8-0 in an NCAA Tournament first-round game.  Butch Huff (Toms River/TR North) led the Ospreys with two goals and an assist.  Mike Holmes (Toms River/TR North) and Ben DeBlois (Mullica Hill/Clearview) each tallied a goal and an assist for Stockton, which won its NCAA first-round match for the eighth time in 10 NCAA Tournament appearances.

Ray Nelson (Toms River/TR South), Rafael Duarte (Ocean City/Ocean City), Zak Hughes (Tabernacle/Seneca) and Jim Eveland (Mt. Laurel/Lenape) netted one goal apiece for the Ospreys.  Stockton goalkeeper Matt Hart (Dayton/South Brunswick) needed just two saves to record the shutout as the Ospreys outshot St. Joseph’s 30-5.

Huff opened the scoring at 17:23 and Duarte gave Stockton a 2-0 lead just three minutes later.  Nelson and Hughes also scored first-half goals and the Ospreys led 4-0 at the break.  Holmes increased the margin to 5-0 just 25 seconds into the second half.  Stockton tacked on three more goals in the final 11 minutes for the 8-0 victory in its first NCAA Tournament game since 2004.
