15th-ranked Richard Stockton (16-6-1) was knocked out of the NCAA Tournament 3-0 by Christopher Newport (16-4-3) in a rainy second-round match.  Goalkeeper Matt Hart (Dayton/South Brunswick) recorded two saves but the Ospreys were shut out for the fifth time in 23 games this season.  The defeat brought Stockton’s season to an end at 16-6-1, including the Ospreys’ first NCAA Tournament berth since 2004. 

Stockton had a great chance to take an early lead when Sean McCallum (Vineland/Vineland) was fouled in the box just 17 seconds into the game, but the penalty kick by Rafael Duarte (Ocean City/Ocean City) sailed high.  The opportunity turned out to be Stockton’s best of the night.  Christopher Newport broke the scoreless tie with its first goal at 63:46 and doubled its lead with another goal only 2:20 later.  The Captains added a late goal at 79:58 and eliminated Stockton from the NCAA Tournament, 3-0.
