Albright 99, Stockton 63

Kelley Guarrera

Boxscore
Richard Stockton (0-4) played its fourth game in five days and was unable to keep pace with Albright (2-2) in a 99-63 defeat.  Kelley Guarrera (Shamong/Shawnee) led the Ospreys with a team-high 15 points.  Ashley Hart (Pt. Pleasant Beach/Peddie School) went 4-5 from three-point range and finished with 14 points.  Freshmen LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) and Aliyah Nelson (Pleasantville/St. Joseph) established career highs of 11 and 10 points respectively.

Stockton struggled offensively in the early minutes of the game and could not recover.  After Oliver sank a layup to cut Albright’s lead to 13-6, the Ospreys went six minutes without a point as Albright built an insurmountable 28-6 lead.  Nelson finally ended the drought with a three-pointer to make the score 28-9 with 11:10 remaining in the period.

Later, a free throw by Oliver with 6:35 on the first-half clock got the Ospreys within 16 points, but Albright outscored Stockton 21-4 the rest of the half, leaving them with a 57-24 deficit at the break.  Although the Ospreys went 7-14 from three-point range in the second half, led by Hart who was 3-3, they never mounted a serious rally in suffering the 99-63 setback.
