Ramapo 66, Stockton 65

Richard Stockton (1-6, 0-2) was edged 66-65 by Ramapo (3-4, 1-1) in an NJAC game on the road.  LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) scored a career-high 21 points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.  Ashley Hart (Pt. Pleasant Beach/Peddie School) contributed 11 points and four assists while Aliyah Nelson (Pleasantville/St. Joseph) tied her career high with 10 points and notched seven steals.  The Ospreys went just 1-12 (8.3%) from three-point range in the game.

Stockton trailed 27-16 late in the first half but closed the period on a 12-4 run to pull within 31-28.  Oliver ignited the spurt with a three-point play and Nelson added four points for the Ospreys.  The score was tied three times in the second half before Alyssa Reiter (Sewell/Gloucester Catholic) sank a jumper to give Stockton its first lead of the game, 41-40, with 13:44 remaining. 

The teams swapped the lead seven times and the score was tied five times in the next 10:47.  Hart drained two free throws to put Stockton ahead 61-60 with 2:57 to play, but Ramapo scored five straight points for a 65-61 lead with 1:44 on the clock.  Baskets by Monique Garcia (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) and Oliver in the final minute produced a 65-65 tie at the 37-second mark.  Ramapo sank the go-ahead free throw with 19 ticks left and the Ospreys were unable to score on their next possession, falling short 66-65.
