Stockton Opens Indoor Season at CTC Relays

The Stockton men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams competed in their first meet of the season, the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Relays at Yale University.  The Stockton women’s team finished third of 11 with 31 points while the Osprey men’s team placed fifth of 10 with 19 points.  Tony DeFeo (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) won the pole vault (4.27m) and finished third in the weight throw (14.42m) for the Ospreys. 

Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/Oackrest) won the women’s high jump (1.50m) and Chris Huch (Tuckerton/ Pinelands) won the men’s high jump (2.02m).  Stephanie Aromando (Newton/Kittatinny) finished second in the weight throw (14.59m) and Ben Hammond (Williamstown/ Williamstown) captured second place in the triple jump (13.48m).

In her first meet since suffering a broken ankle last February, Ronika Eckart (Pt. Pleasant/Pt. Pleasant Boro) placed third in the long jump (4.92m) and fifth in the 55-meter hurdles (9.00 seconds).  Rachel Joseph (Livingston/Livingston) finished third in the pole vault (3.15m) and sixth in the long jump (4.59m) while also helping Stockton to a fourth-place finish in the 4x400 relay (4:24.48).
