In its first game since December 18, Richard Stockton (2-8) fell to Catholic University (8-4) 75-63. Ashley Hart (Pt. Pleasant Beach/ Peddie School) led a quartet of double-digit scorers for Stockton with 16 points and Kelley Guarrera (Shamong/Shawnee) tossed in 12 points. Jenn Russell (Scotch Plains/SP-Fanwood) and Julia Fagan (New Britain, CT/New Britain) contributed 10 points apiece but the Ospreys were hampered by 31 turnovers and 47.1 percent free throw shooting (8-17).

Catholic jumped out to an early 16-9 lead but Stockton rallied with a 10-2 spurt that Hart capped with a three-pointer to put the Ospreys on top 19-18. Fagan later gave Stockton a 21-20 lead, however Catholic reeled off 11 consecutive points for a 31-21 count. Stockton battled back to within 35-34 on another trey by Hart with 32 seconds left in the half. Catholic responded with a bucket in the closing seconds of the period for a 37-34 lead at intermission.

Catholic scored the first five points of the second half to boost its lead to 42-34 before Russell sank a layup for Stockton’s first points of the period. Catholic outscored the Ospreys 17-5 over the next seven minutes for a 59-41 advantage with 11:32 to play. Guarrera netted seven points and Russell added six points as Stockton rallied to within 67-63 with 3:19 on the clock, but the Ospreys did not score again as Catholic tallied the final eight points for the 75-63 final.
