Richard Stockton (2-10, 0-3) was overwhelmed 71-44 by College of New Jersey (8-3, 1-1) as the Ospreys continued their busy stretch of five games in 10 days. LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/ Overbrook) was the lone Stockton player to reach double figures, finishing with a team-high 10 points. Julia Fagan (New Britain, CT/New Britain) tallied eight points and a team-high eight rebounds while Kristin Sciarrillo (Edison/Edison) finished with eight points and six boards for the Ospreys.

Stockton struggled offensively in the first half and could not recover. The Ospreys shot just 8-32 (25%) from the field in the period. Monique Garcia (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) sank a layup for Stockton’s only points of the first seven minutes as the Ospreys fell behind 20-2. Sciarrillo netted six points and Oliver added four as Stockton used a 14-2 run to pull within 24-18, but the Ospreys did not score during the final 5:35 of the half and trailed 35-18 at intermission.

After TCNJ scored the first basket of the second half, Katey Charmello (South Amboy/ South Amboy) drained two straight three-pointers to cut Stockton’s deficit to 13 points at 37-24. A TCNJ layup was answered with a bucket from Garcia as the Ospreys again got within 13 points. The Lions scored the next five markers for a 44-26 count and Stockton trailed by at least 15 for the rest of the game in suffering the 71-44 defeat.
