Boxscore
Richard Stockton (3-11) snapped a four-game losing streak with a 73-56 victory over King’s (PA) (5-9) in a non-conference game. Freshman Monique Garcia (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) led the Ospreys with a career-high 14 points and a team-high four assists. Aliyah Nelson (Pleasantville/St. Joseph), also a freshman, scored 11 points and Ashley Hart (Pt. Pleasant Beach/Peddie School) contributed 10 points for Stockton.

Stockton led 37-33 at intermission and broke the game open in the second half. Jenny Fitzgerald (Rockaway/Morris Catholic) scored four of her eight points during an 11-3 run that gave the Ospreys a 59-49 lead with 11:17 to play. After King’s scored three straight markers to pull within 59-52, Garcia hit consecutive baskets to increase Stockton’s advantage to 63-52. The Ospreys led by at least nine points for the last nine minutes to post the 73-56 triumph.

There were eight lead changes in the early going before Stockton created a 26-19 lead when Garcia hit two free throws following an Alyssa Reiter (Sewell/Gloucester Catholic) jumper for a quick four-point burst. King’s fought back and briefly took a one-point lead on two occasions before Kelley Guarrera (Shamong/Shawnee) sandwiched a pair of three-pointers around a King’s basket in the final 43 seconds of the half to give the Ospreys a 37-33 advantage at the break.
