Stockton Teams Return to Action at John Covert Classic

Results 
The Stockton indoor track & field teams returned from their seven-week layoff by competing in the John Covert Classic at Lehigh University. One of only four NCAA Division III teams at the meet, the Stockton women tied for 12th and the Osprey men finished 12th. Stockton fared best in the high jump as Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) placed third in the women’s competition (1.65m) and Chris Huch (Tuckerton/Pinelands) finished third in the men’s event (1.88m).

Tony DeFeo (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) placed fourth in the men’s pole vault (4.25m) while Rachel Joseph (Livingston/Livingston) finished seventh in the women’s pole vault (3.04m). Also for the Ospreys, Meredith Malloy (Hamilton/Hamilton West) crossed the line eighth in the 3000-meter run (11:10.19) and Stephanie Aromando (Newton/Kittatinny) was ninth in the weight throw (13.64m). The meet primarily consisted of student-athletes from NCAA Division I and II institutions, with the Stockton teams stepping up a level in competition.
