Outdoor Track Season Begins at Stockton Invitational

Richard Stockton began the 2009 outdoor track & field season by hosting the Stockton Invitational and winning three events. The Ospreys swept the pole vault, with Rachel Joseph (Livingston/ Livingston) taking the women’s competition (3.35m) and Tony DeFeo (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) capturing the men’s event (4.25m). Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) won the high jump (1.63m) for Stockton as well.

Ronika Eckart (Pt. Pleasant/Pt. Pleasant Boro) finished second in the 100m dash (12.88) while Bryan Walsh (Jamesburg/ Monroe Twp.) was second in the men’s 110m hurdles (16.63 seconds). Katelyn Reiter (Union/Union) placed fourth in the 400m hurdles (1:08.65) and Cehara Wellington (Cherry Hill/CH East) was fourth in the shot put (11.45m).

Also for the Stockton women’s team, Kelly Rozing (Hazlet/ Raritan) finished fourth in the discus (36.00m), Stephanie Aromando (Newton/Kittatinny) placed fourth in the hammer throw (39.82m) and Amanda Williams (Williamstown/ Williamstown) tied for fourth in the high jump (1.53m). Jose Ramos (Vineland/Vineland) finished fourth in the javelin (48.15m) for the Stockton men.
