Novice Eight and Varsity Four Compete at Occoquan Sprints

Richard Stockton competed in the novice eight and varsity four races at the Occoquan Sprints in Virginia. In the novice eight, the Ospreys placed third in their heat with a time of 8:09.73 and advanced to the final, where Stockton finished sixth at 8:39.25 while competing against four NCAA Division I teams and one Division III squad.

Coxswain Allison Ninfa (Williamstown/Buena) led a lineup of Carrie Borkowski (Belleville/Belleville), Chelsey Barber (Cape May CH/Cape May Tech), Alexandra Mankofsky (Wyckoff/Ramapo), Eva Martin (Riverdale/DePaul Catholic), Marie Livesy (Northfield/Mainland), Stephanie Gilliard (Atlantic City/Atlantic City), Stephanie Roth (Millstone Twp./St. John Vianney) and Marcelle LaCroix (Millstone Twp./Allentown).

The Stockton varsity four of Ceili Bachman (Lincoln, PA/Avon Grove), Laura O’Donnell (Mt. Laurel/Lenape), Michele Elberson (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) and Melanie Whalen (Long Valley/West Morris Central) with coxswain Ariel Hernandez (Hammonton/Hammonton) finished second in its heat with a time of 8:23.64. The Ospreys registered the fourth fastest time out of 11 entries in two heats of the varsity four.
