boxscore Matt Allen (Salem/Woodstown) led off the game with a home run to give the Ospreys an early 1-0 lead and extend his hitting streak to seven games. Chris Wedding (Toms River/TR East) drew a bases-loaded walk in the second frame for a 2-0 advantage, but Rutgers-Camden scored twice in the bottom of the sixth for a 2-2 tie. In the eighth inning, Merulla tripled and then scored on a wild pitch as Stockton regained the lead, 3-2. Rutgers-Camden rallied in the bottom half with five runs on four hits, two walks and hit batsman. All of the runs were scored with two outs. Dan McGuckin (Sicklerville/Winslow Twp.) and Mike Wasco (Riverside/Riverside) each singled in the ninth inning, but Stockton was unable to score and fell 7-3. |
