boxscore McCarthy scored the third of three straight Stockton goals that gave the Ospreys a 4-2 lead four minutes into the second quarter. The two-goal gap was the largest of the game as the teams went back and forth. Montclair answered with its own three-goal spurt and went on top 5-4 early in the third quarter. Stockton regained the lead 6-5 on tallies by Matt Bologno (Glen Gardner/Voorhees) and Dybus. Montclair struck again to knot the match at 6-6 with 5:45 left in the third quarter but McCarthy scored a minute later to put Stockton back in front 7-6. The Red Hawks answered again, this time with 1:28 remaining in the third quarter to produce a 7-7 tie, and Montclair scored the only goal of the fourth quarter with 3:21 on the clock to deal Stockton the 8-7 defeat. |
