Stockton Competes at West Chester Invitational

Richard Stockton competed in the West Chester University Invitational and performed at a high level with three event wins and four second-place finishes. Cehara Wellington (Cherry Hill/CH East) won the discus (38.90m) and Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) won the high jump (1.62m). On the track, Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/Mainland) won the 1500m run (5:07.42) and also placed fifth in the 800m run (2:26.48).

The Stockton women’s team also collected second-place finishes from Stephanie Aromando (Newton/Kittatinny) in the hammer throw (44.06m) and Shelley Gibney (Shamong/Seneca) in the 400m hurdles (1:06.81). Tony DeFeo (Mays Landing/ Oakcrest) finished second in the pole vault (4.45m) and Elijah Jones (Millville/Millville) was second in the 800m run (2:01.73) for the Stockton men’s team.

Ronika Eckart (Pt. Pleasant/Pt. Pleasant Beach) placed third in the 100m dash (13.00 seconds) and 100m hurdles (15.80 seconds) while Travis Decker (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands) finished third in the men’s discus. Also for the Ospreys, Abad Akhtar (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) placed fifth in the 1500m run (4:17.95).
