One Win, Two NCAA Provisionals at TCNJ Lions Invitational

The Richard Stockton track & field teams competed in the TCNJ Lions Invitational at College of New Jersey. There was no team scoring at the meet. Abad Akhtar (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) won the 5000m run (15:36.98) for the Ospreys. Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) and Rachel Joseph (Livingston/Livingston) achieved NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the high jump (1.66m) and pole vault (3.55m) respectively. Shepherd finished second while Joseph tied for third place.

Cehara Wellington (Cherry Hill/CH East) performed well in two events, placing second in the shot put (11.66m) and tying for third in the discus (36.10m). Stephanie Aromando (Newton/ Kittatinny) finished third in the hammer throw (43.09m) and Katelyn Reiter (Union/Union) was third in the 400m hurdles (1:06.32).

For the Stockton men’s team, Jim Osenenko (West Creek/ Pinelands) placed seventh in the high jump (1.80m) and Ben Hammond (Williamstown/Williamstown) was seventh in the triple jump (13.26m).
