Women Second, Men Fifth at NJAC Championships

Results
The Richard Stockton women’s team finished second with 153 points and the Stockton men’s team placed fifth with 56 points in the NJAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Rowan University. The Ospreys won four events in women’s competition and one event on the men’s side. Cehara Wellington (Cherry Hill/CH East) led Stockton by winning the discus (39.21m) and finishing second in the shot put (12.34m).

Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) repeated as the NJAC champion in the high jump (1.57m) while Stephanie Aromando (Newton/Kittatinny) won the hammer throw (45.70m) and Rachel Joseph (Livingston/Livingston) won the pole vault (3.25m). Chris Huch (Tuckerton/Pinelands) won the men’s high jump (1.90m) and Tony DeFeo (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) placed second in the men’s pole vault (4.35m) for the Ospreys.

Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/Mainland) finished second in the 1500m run (4:48.26) while Ronika Eckart (Pt. Pleasant/Pt. Pleasant Beach) placed second in the 100m hurdles (15.40 seconds) and Shelley Gibney (Shamong/Seneca) was second in the 400m hurdles (1:04.56). The Stockton 4x400 relay team of Joseph, Gibney, Evangelist and Katelyn Reiter (Union/Union) also finished in second place (4:06.72) at the NJAC meet.
