STOCKTON COMPETES IN 12 EVENTS AT ECAC MEET

Richard Stockton student-athletes competed in 10 women’s events and two men’s events at the ECAC Championships, which were hosted by Springfield College (MA). Competitors needed to qualify during the season in order to be eligible for the meet. Cehara Wellington (Cherry Hill/CH East), the only Stockton competitor to qualify in two events, finished fourth out of 33 in the discus (38.81m) and ninth of 20 in the shot put (11.74m).

Rachel Joseph (Livingston/Livingston) placed fourth in the pole vault (3.60m) and Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) tied for fourth in the high jump (1.67m). Ronika Eckart (Pt. Pleasant/ Pt. Pleasant Beach) finished sixth out of 24 entrants in the 100m hurdles (15.59 seconds) for the Ospreys. The Stockton women’s team placed 14th out of 56 squads with 17 points. For the Stockton men, Tony DeFeo (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) notched a season best and finished seventh out of 21 competitors in the pole vault (4.67m).
