Richard Stockton (1-0) scored twice in the first half and won the season opener 2-1 over FDU-Florham (0-1). Leah Pocoroba (Galloway/Holy Spirit), a 2008 NJAC Second Team selection, and Rebecca Stockl (Glassboro/Glassboro) scored one goal apiece for the Ospreys. Stockton goalkeeper Maria Dorris (Mantua/Clearview), a freshman, registered two saves and earned the victory in her first college game. Stockton outshot FDU-Florham 18-7 in the match.

Pocoroba gave Stockton a 1-0 lead with a goal assisted by Lindsay Roake (Neptune/ Neptune) at the 24-minute mark in the first half. Stockl , who is a sophomore, netted her first career goal at 36:31 with an assist by Kim Mancini (Toms River/TR North) to give the Ospreys a 2-0 edge. Stockton dominated the first half with a 9-1 advantage in shots. FDU-Florham closed the gap to one with a tally at 70:11, but Stockton protected its lead down the stretch and posted the 2-1 victory.
