Richard Stockton (1-1) was blanked 2-0 by 13th-ranked Eastern University (1-1) in the first round of the 2009 Stockton Classic. The game also was the home opener for the Ospreys after they began the season with a road win at FDU-Florham. Freshman goalkeeper Maria Dorris (Mantua/Clearview) made eight saves and kept the Ospreys within striking distance throughout the game.

Dorris notched one stop in a scoreless first half as the teams combined for just three shots on goal. The rookie keeper saw more action in the second half and registered seven saves in the period. Eastern snapped the scoreless tie with its first goal at 66:57 and added an insurance goal on a 25-yard free kick at 75:54 as the Eagles shut out Stockton 2-0.
