Richard Stockton (9-2, 3-1) had its seven-game winning streak snapped with a 1-0 defeat to Rowan (6-3-1, 1-1-1) in the latest edition of the fierce rivalry between the two South Jersey schools. Stockton goalkeeper Anthony Pompei (Hamilton/ Hamilton West) registered five saves in the game, but the Ospreys were shut out for the second time in 11 games this season. Rowan outshot Stockton 18-13 in the match and scored the only goal of the night on a shot from the top of the box at 27:07. The defeat ended Stockton’s three-game unbeaten streak (2-0-1) against the Profs since Rowan’s last victory in the series, which came on October 26, 2005. |
