Richard Stockton (23-11, 7-1) had its five-match winning streak and its 20-match win streak versus NJAC opponents snapped with a 22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 25-14 defeat at Montclair State (13-11, 8-0). Christine Velott (Moorestown/Moorestown) paced Stockton with 14 kills while Laura Hausman (Bethlehem, PA/ Catasauqua) dished 20 assists. The loss also dropped the Ospreys into second place in the NJAC and relegated them to the No. 2 seed for the NJAC tournament.

Velott slammed four kills and the Ospreys opened up a 15-10 lead on their way to winning the opening set 25-22. Velott struck another kill late in the second set to put Stockton ahead 23-22, but Montclair State responded with three consecutive points and evened the match, 25-23. The third set was equally close, with a kill by Anna Streicher (Marlton/Cherokee) tying the score at 23 before Montclair won the set 25-23 with two straight points. Stockton fell victim to a 13-2 run in the fourth set as the Red Hawks closed out the match 25-14.
