NJAC Tournament first round:
Rutgers-Newark 1, Stockton 0 (OT)

Fifth-seeded Richard Stockton (12-8-1) was eliminated from the NJAC tournament with a 1-0 overtime loss to fourth-seeded Rutgers-Newark (13-4-4) in the first round. Stockton goalkeeper Lou Herring (Freehold/Freehold) made seven saves, but was beaten on a shot from nearly 40 yards away early in overtime despite a diving effort to deny the attempt.

Stockton dominated the play early and registered eight of the first 11 shots of the game. Rutgers-Newark controlled the play after the scoreless first half, outshooting the Ospreys 15-3 over the final 46:03 of the match. After 90 minutes of shutout soccer, Rutgers-Newark needed just 1:03 of overtime to oust Stockton from the NJAC tournament 1-0. The Ospreys now will await a possible invitation to the ECAC Metro tournament.
