Boxscore
Richard Stockton (14-6-2) fell short in its bid for its first NJAC championship 7-6 on penalty kicks after a 0-0 tie with College of New Jersey (16-6-1) in the league championship game. Stockton goalkeeper Maria Dorris (Mantua/Cleaview) earned her third consecutive shutout with a career-high 12 saves. Dorris and the Ospreys have not allowed a goal in the last 320 minutes.

TCNJ outshot Stockton by a whopping 36-3 margin, but the Ospreys withstood the pressure and preserved a 0-0 deadlock. The Lions registered the two best scoring chances of the match late in regulation, but Dorris made a pair of acrobatic stops to keep the game scoreless. After two overtimes did not produce a winner, penalty kicks decided the NJAC champion. Stockton shot first in each round and both teams were successful on their first six tries.

In order, the Stockton players who converted penalty kicks in the shootout were Leah Pocoroba (Galloway/Holy Spirit), Shelley Gibney (Shamong/Seneca), Sara Petersen (Beachwood/Toms River South), Lindsay Roake (Neptune/Neptune), Laura O’Shea (Petersburg/Ocean City) and Rachel Carlson (Mullica Twp./Oakcrest). Stockton’s run of goals ended in round seven and TCNJ followed with a successful kick to deny the Ospreys their first NJAC championship.
