NURSING INSTANT DECISION DAY
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2009
(deadline to apply has been extended)
The Office of Enrollment Management is proudly hosting a Nursing Instant Decision Day for academically talented high school seniors seeking both admission to Stockton College and a career in nursing.
The nursing program (BSN) is designed for the student who wishes to become a registered nurse (RN) while completing the bachelor of science in nursing degree. The program focuses on the acquisition of the knowledge and skills necessary to practice as a professional RN and is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and the New Jersey State Board of Nursing. Combined with Stockton’s unique liberal arts experience, the program not only prepares graduates to participate in a culturally diverse and ever changing society, but to successfully complete the NCLEX and provide a base for graduate education and clinical specialization.
Nursing Instant Decision Day offers you the opportunity to connect with the nursing program director, nursing faculty and students, and College administrators. It also allows you to learn firsthand about academic life, social life, and tour the campus and nursing facilities. The primary benefit to attending is receiving a college acceptance before you leave. What makes Nursing Instant Decision Day unique is the added benefit of also being immediately accepted into the nursing program on this day. Students who apply for nursing under the regular admissions criteria are not guaranteed a seat in the program after being accepted into Stockton and will have to wait until a later time for a decision.
Space is limited to 25 students; reservations and prequalification are a must. We want to ensure that you receive the personalized attention that is the hallmark of a Stockton education. Parents are welcome to accompany you, meet with Stockton staff and get "parent" questions answered.
At the end of the day, you will receive your letter of acceptance for admission to Stockton College and letter of acceptance into the nursing program. You may also receive a scholarship award, if eligible, at the same time. You are under no obligation to submit the $100 enrollment deposit fee, but in order to maintain a guaranteed seat in the nursing program, your deposit should be postmarked by December 15, 2009. The May 1, 2010 deadline to confirm acceptance for Fall 2010 still applies in the event that you decide to change your major from Nursing to another major that qualifies under general admissions guidelines.
Requirements for consideration to attend:
Once we receive your Nursing IDD application we will notify you of your eligibility to attend. If you are selected to attend we will contact you with specific instructions on what you will need to bring with you the day of the program.
Any questions regarding Instant Decision Day please contact Mrs. Joanne Yost at 609-652-4262 or joanne.yost@stockton.edu.
If you do not meet The Nursing Instant Decision Day requirements, we encourage you to apply for Instant Decision Days or through the regular admissions process.
