Free To Be is Stockton College’s Child Care Center. It offers a unique learning environment for preschool children aged 3 to 5 years. Nestled in a wooded site on the campus, the school provides a supportive atmosphere where both children and adults test their theories in order to discover and grow.
The curriculum aims to help children develop creativity, strong problem-solving abilities and a rich sense of inquiry. Children learn values, listening skills, independence, kindness, language, confidence, patience and cooperation. These are the children that the kindergarten teachers recognize in their classes as ready to learn!
Family involvement is a special characteristic of Free To Be. We believe that cooperation from home helps to maximize our impact on your child and to develop the family’s sense of belonging and ownership.
Our school was among the first preschool programs in the United States to be accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. We are currently enrolled in the self-study phase for reaccreditation. Free To Be enjoys a reputation for providing high quality, cutting edge practice in the field of early childhood education.
The doors first opened in 1974. Today our school is as alive and new as it was back then. We continue to grow as a community of thinking and feeling children and adults.
