Nestled in a wooded site on campus, Free To Be provides a unique environment where children and adults can create, discover, and explore. The Center offers top quality child care for children ages 3-5 to families in the Stockton community: students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
The curriculum aims to help children develop creativity, strong problem-solving abilities and a rich sense of inquiry. Children learn values, listening skills, independence, kindness, language, confidence, patience and cooperation.
Family involvement is a special characteristic of Free To Be. We believe that cooperation from home helps to maximize our impact on your child and to develop the family’s sense of belonging and ownership.
Our school was among the first preschool programs in the United States to be accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. Free To Be enjoys a reputation for providing high quality, cutting edge practice in the field of early childhood education.
The doors first opened in 1974. Today our school is as alive and new as it was back then. We continue to grow as a community of thinking and feeling children and adults.
