* ESL Endorsement * Bilingual/Bicultural Endorsement *

ESL Endorsement/ Curriculum Worksheet

This program is designed for certified teachers wishing to add the ESL endorsement to their existing certifications.  Students will complete the necessary five graduate courses and take the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and Written Proficiency Test (WPT) in English in order to be eligible for this endorsement. These courses may be applied to an MAED degree.

EDUC 5202 Introduction to Linguistics
EDUC 5203 Second Language Acquisition
EDUC 5204 Language and Intercultural Communication
EDUC 5205 Methods of Teaching ESL/BE

Bilingual/Bicultural Endorsement/ Curriculum Worksheet
This program is designed for certified teachers wishing to add the Bilingual/Bicultural endorsement to their existing certification(s). Students will complete the necessary four graduate courses and take the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and Written Proficiency Test (WPT) in English and another language in order to be eligible for this endorsement. These courses may be applied to an MAED degree.

Admission Requirements for all endorsement programs:
• An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
• A minimum grade point average of 2.75
• A teaching certificate
• Valid Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) scores (the MAT is offered at Stockton)
