Grants Office
Mission and Values

The Grants Office assists members of the Stockton community in pursuing support for their
scholarly and creative activities. By providing information and services, the Grants Office aids
Stockton faculty and staff at times of need and opportunity so they might compete successfully
for funding.

In accomplishing this mission, the Office assists in project development and provides guidance
on proposal content and editing of rough drafts, researching supporting details and help with
identifying possible outside funders. Information and assistance for internal funding is another
function within the Grants Office. These include research and professional development
awards, faculty fellowships and sabbatical applications.

The Grants Office is responsible for shepherding proposals through internal review as well as
monitoring assurances and compliance issues as directed by the values of grantsmanship, and
by the Federal, State, and College policies, procedures and regulations.

In serving the academic functions of the College, the grants office operates within a set of values
that help define its relationships and activities.  As such, we value…

Scholarship broadly defined to include research and creative activity, learning and teaching,
engagement and application.

An environment which encourages and supports inquiry and achievement for its effects on one’s
own and our students’ intellectual growth, on richness and rewards brought to our collaborations,
and for the improvements these bring to the institution.

Recognizing the importance of the changes that result from funded projects.

Celebrating and acknowledging achievements in scholarship.
