The Underpants
By Steve Martin
Adapted from the play by Carl Sternheim
Wednesday, November 17 through Saturday, November 20 – 7:30pm
Sunday, November 21 – 3:00pm

In this hilarious German farce, originally written in 1910, a beautiful but neglected young housewife causes scandal and chaos when her underpants fall down at a public parade for the king. Comedian Steve Martin’s adaptation is brimming with wit and broad comedy as he satirizes our fascination with fame, sex and the frequent absurdity of prescribed gender roles.

Laugh-out-loud funny. The New York Times

The Pillowman
By Martin McDonagh
Wednesday, February 9 through Saturday, February 12 – 7:30pm
Sunday, February 13 – 3:00pm

A black comedy, The Pillowman is the tale of Katurian, a fiction writer living in a police state who is interrogated about the gruesome content of his short stories, and their similarities to a number of bizarre child murders occurring in his town. With echoes of Stoppard and Kafka, McDonagh’s drama is a viciously funny and seriously disturbing tale that questions whether violent imagery leads to violent acts, the power of literature and the threat it poses to such a state, and the making of the creative mind itself.

The Pillowman is about, above all . . . storytelling and the thrilling narrative potential of theater itself. The New York Times
