Born in Hungary in 1926, Elizabeth Blum Goldstein was one of eight children in a hard-working family, securely settled in a stable community. In 1944 the Nazi occupation utterly destroyed her world. After sixty years of silence Elizabeth opens her heart to her granddaughter Shana and shares her remarkable tale of courage and survival. This original production, which premiered at Stockton in 2007, is the fruit of collaboration between Stockton Professor Pamela Hendrick and Stockton Alumna Shana Fogarty. Shana’s grandmother, Elizabeth, is alive and well and living in South Jersey.

Stones from God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead
By Bert V. Royal
Wednesday, February 24 through Saturday, February 27 – 7:30 PM
Sunday, February 28 – 3:00 PM
In this “unauthorized parody,” the lovable Peanuts tots are now in high school. Trying, as always, to understand life’s darker meanings and still plagued with his endless identity crisis, CB turns to his gang of friends -- a comic strip parade of misfits -- for the answers to his many life questions. A chance meeting with an artistic kid, the target of this group’s bullying, offers CB some peace of mind and sets in motion a friendship that will push teen angst to the very limits. Drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion and sexual identity collide and careen toward an ending that’s both haunting and hopeful.

Stones from God
By Pamela Hendrick and Tom Papademetriou
Wednesday, April 14 through Saturday, April 17 – 7:30 PM
Sunday, April 18 – 3:00 PM
A world premiere! In an eastern Mediterranean village in Turkey, the Greek Orthodox community is building a church. It is the end of the 19th century, and the local Greek Christians are preoccupied with this momentous task while they contend with their Muslim Turkish and Armenian neighbors, and the challenges of the Ottoman state. This original collaboration between two Stockton faculty members, a playwright and a historian, brings to life true human stories of a community that disappeared and is in danger of being lost forever.
