STOCKTON FALLS TO URSINUS 12-5 |
||
Richard Stockton (2-2) took to the road for the first time in 2012 after opening the season with three straight home games but the result was not what the Ospreys were hoping for as they fell to Ursinus (3-1) 12-5. Nick Bologno (Glen Gardner/North Hunterdon) led Stockton with two goals and Brian Santoleri (Berwyn, PA/Archbishop Carroll) chipped in with a goal and an assist. Goalie Tim Wolcott (Toms River/TR North) finished with 13 saves. Ursinus dominated the first quarter, scoring five goals in the opening 11 minutes with two coming in extra-man situations. Bologno finally got Stockton on the board assisted by Drew Wright (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) with 2:04 left in the opening quarter. The Ospreys closed the gap to 5-3 with tallies by Wade Veselka (Chesterfield/Northern Burlington) unassisted and Santoleri with Wright’s second helper of the game. Ursinus squashed the Stockton rally by scoring the next six goals of the match for an 11-3 advantage after three quarters. Bologno and Robert Krais (Jackson/Jackson Memorial) netted markers for Stockton in the fourth stanza but the Ospreys suffered their second defeat in a row, 12-5. |
