Nick Bologno


Richard Stockton (4-4, 1-0 Skyline) defeated Mount St. Mary (4-4, 0-1) 16-11 in the Skyline Conference opener for both teams.

Nick Bologno (Glen Gardner/North Hunterdon) again was the leading scorer for the Ospreys, finishing with five goals and three assists.

Brian Santoleri (Berwyn, PA/Archbishop Carroll) tallied three goals and two assists while Drew Wright (Wallingford/Strath Haven) chipped in with three goals and an assist.

Goalkeeper Tim Wolcott (Toms River/ TR North) earned the victory with eight saves, including four in the fourth quarter to help Stockton protect the lead.

Bologno netted two early goals to help Stockton jump out to a 3-0 lead in the first five minutes. The Ospreys led 4-2 after one quarter and extended their lead with four goals in a five-minute span of the second period. Santoleri scored twice during the outburst, which gave Stockton a 9-4 advantage.

Mount St. Mary pulled within 11-8 before Santoleri set up Wright and Bologno for tallies that increased the Stockton lead to five. The Knights closed the gap to 13-11 with five minutes to play but Bologno answered with two straight goals and Wright scored with 43 seconds remaining to clinch the 16-11 victory.
