Richard Stockton (6-7, 3-2 Skyline) was held to a season-low four goals by Farmingdale State (4-8, 2-2) and suffered an 8-4 defeat in a defensive battle. Wade Veselka (Chesterfield/Northern Burlington) scored two goals and goalkeeper Noah Morris (Brick/Brick Twp.) gave the Ospreys a chance to win with a career-high 15 saves. Tom Walsh (Rockaway/Morris Hills) gave Stockton a 1-0 lead 3:35 into the game but Farmingdale State answered with two straight goals. Veselka tied the match 2-2 with his first marker of the game just 26 seconds after the Rams had taken the lead. Farmingdale State then scored the next five goals and the Ospreys faced a 7-2 deficit at halftime. Goals by Brian Santoleri (Berwyn, PA/Archbishop Carroll) and Veselka in a span of 1:01 early in the third quarter brought Stockton within 7-4 but the Ospreys were held scoreless for the last 28:52 of the game and fell 8-4. |
