Stockton Hosts Meet to Begin Outdoor Season

Richard Stockton opened the 2011 outdoor season by hosting the Stockton Invitational. The Ospreys won five events and registered 10 second-place finishes.

Amanda Williams (Williamstown/Williamstown) won the high jump (1.58m) and finished second in the triple jump (10.62m). Chris Collins (Manahawkin/Southern) won the 100m (11.48 seconds) and placed second in the 200m (22.77 seconds).

2010 All-American Jill Shaner (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) dominated the javelin, winning by 6.41 meters (44.70m) and automatically qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the first meet of the season.

Rachel Carlson (Mullica Twp./Oakcrest) won the 800m (2:28.32) and Abad Akhtar (Brigantine/Atlantic City) completed the quintet of winners for Stockton by crossing the finish line first in the 1500m (4:02.79).

Katherine Rudy (Bound Brook/Bound Brook) finished second in the 400 hurdles (1:08.27) and 800m (2:29.55). Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/Mainland) shattered her own school record and placed second in the 3000m (10:46.86) while Mahogany Mitchell (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) finished second in the hammer throw (46.11m).

Kyle Prima (Toms River/TR North) finished second in the 400 hurdles (58.74 seconds) and Dillon Glasser (Mays Landing/ACIT) was second in the 3000m steeplechase (10:13.22). Ryan Mazzeo (Marmora/Ocean City) placed second in the pole vault (4.25m) and Kevin Miller (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) was second in the javelin (57.38m).
