STOCKTON HOSTS OSPREY OPEN

Richard Stockton hosted a small gathering of track & field teams for the Osprey Open on the day before Easter. The Osprey teams won a total of 12 events, seven men’s and five women’s.

Freshman Tim Miller (Tuckerton/Pinelands) was a double winner as he captured the high jump (1.93m) and long jump (6.14m).

On the track, Alex Bruno (Voorhees/Eastern) won the 5000m (16:17.61) and James Rivers (Barnegat/Barnegat) crossed the line first in the 10,000m (33:15.74).

Randy Faiges (Bayville/Central Regional) won the 3000m steeplechase (10:11.28) and the Ospreys also took the 4x100 relay (45.44 seconds).

Anthony Durak (Bayonne/Bayonne), Charles Brown (Camden/Camden), Eric Thompson (Pennsauken/ Pennsauken) and John Burhkart (Vineland/Vineland) ran the winning relay.

Kevin Miller (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) completed the list of Stockton men’s winners with first place in the discus (40.81m).

For the Stockton women’s team, Morgan Sinclair (Chadds Ford, PA/Unionville) won the 10,000m (40:09.79) on the track.

The Ospreys also won four field events. Meagan Simmons (Manahawkin/Southern) captured the triple jump (10.64m) and Nikki Stratton (Stratford/Sterling) tied for first in the long jump (4.91m).

In the throwing events, Bree Hudik (Bordentown/Bordentown) won the discus (33.02m) and Christine Eiserle (Jackson/Msgr. Donovan) took the javelin (35.44m). Rebecca Keers-Flood (Metuchen/Metuchen) posted a pair of second-place finishes, in the 100m (14.03 seconds) and 200m (28.39 seconds).
