Common name: Dyeing Poison Frog
Size: 40-50 mm
Clutch Size: 8-10 eggs
Eating habits of Tadpoles: Omnivores and sometimes carnivores
Territory: Ground-dwelling, but will often climb trees

Dendrobates Auratus

 
Common name: Green and Black Poison Frog
Size: 30-32 mm
Clutch Size: 4-6 eggs
Eating habits of Tadpoles: Carnivores - cannibalistic
Territory: Ground-dwelling

Common name: Strawberry Poison Frog

Eating habits of Tadpoles: Food eggs
Territory: Leaves, logs and trees about ½ - 1 meter above the floor

 

 

Ways males can be distinguished from females:

* Males of the same species at the same locality are usually at least 1 to 3 mm shorter than females

* Males have indications of a vocal sac (wrinkled gray skin across the back of the throat)

* Females may call, but not as persistently or elaborately as males

* Males tend to have wider toe pads than females do
